Transforming an Alabama Venue with Event Lighting

When Clint and I started Bright Event Productions, we decided we not only wanted to service the greater Nashville area, but the areas surrounding it as well. Yes, there is activity going on outside of Nashville. Yes, couples are getting married, people are turning a year older, and companies are hosting parties.

In November, local Nashville wedding planner Alice Hendry approached us about an upcoming wedding she was planning in Birmingham, Alabama.  She wanted BRIGHT to create an ambient feel throughout the event space.  The lighting needed to compliment and enhance the raw and industrial venue.

We jumped on the opportunity. There were so many challenges that made it even more enticing:

  1. The wedding was less than 2 months away
  2. We had never seen the venue
  3. We needed to stay within the perimeters of the budget

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you hire a wedding planner. Knowing we would be working under the guidance of Alice Hendry gave us the assurance we would have all the information needed to perform at our best.

Below is the transformation of The Avon Theatre, located in the downtown Lakeview district of Birmingham, Alabama.

So what exactly did we do to make this reception look absolutely stunning? First, we started off by up lighting the perimeter of the event space in amber. Second, we made sure to highlight and pin spot key focal pieces. The cake and floral arrangements were fabulous and would have been lost in the room if we had not brought them to light. Lastly, we included an amber color wash onto the tent ceiling. This created a nice warm glow of functional lighting needed inside the tent.

Not only did Alice bring Bright Event Productions along for the ride but Music City Tents and Events played a huge part in transforming this venue. Thanks for having us, Alice!
